TESS Search Partners recently partnered with Silentium Defence to successfully appoint Ian Muldowney as Managing Director, United Kingdom.
This was a dedicated executive search assignment focused on identifying a senior executive with the commercial leadership, defence industry expertise and international market experience to establish and lead Silentium Defence’s expansion into the United Kingdom and broader European market. The role required an experienced leader capable of driving business growth, building strategic partnerships and leading a new regional operation while working closely with the global executive team.
The search required a highly credentialed executive with a proven track record in defence, complex technology environments and international business leadership. In addition to strong commercial capability, the successful candidate needed to demonstrate experience leading large organisations, engaging with government and defence stakeholders, and delivering strategic growth within highly regulated markets.
Ian Muldowney’s executive leadership experience aligned strongly with Silentium Defence’s requirements. With more than 30 years of executive leadership experience across aerospace, defence and advanced engineering, Ian has led multi-billion-pound business operations, enterprise transformation programs and international growth initiatives. His experience as Chief Operating Officer – Air at BAE Systems, together with extensive board-level leadership, strategic partnerships and operational responsibility across complex defence programs, aligned strongly with Silentium Defence’s vision for its UK expansion.
Ian’s appointment strengthens Silentium Defence’s executive leadership capability and supports the company’s strategic expansion into the United Kingdom and Europe. It also reflects TESS Search Partners’ ability to identify and secure globally experienced executive leaders for critical international appointments within the defence and advanced technology sectors.
