Michell Wool recently partnered with TESS Search Partners to appoint Gayathri Nakka as Human Resources Business Partner.
The role required an experienced HR professional to work closely with leaders and employees across the business, providing hands-on support across employee relations, workforce planning, performance management, leadership coaching and organisational development. Beyond HR capability, Michell Wool required someone comfortable working within an operational environment and building strong relationships across all levels of the workforce.
The search focused on HR professionals with strong generalist experience, sound knowledge of employment law and Fair Work requirements, and experience managing complex employee relations matters. Equally important was a practical, approachable style and the ability to support frontline leaders in a fast-paced operational environment.
Gayathri’s experience across HR advisory, workforce planning, employee relations and workforce management aligned strongly with the role. Most recently, she supported Santos through Chandler Macleod, partnering with senior leaders across corporate and field-based workforces and managing complex ER, OHS and workforce matters. Earlier, she led national workforce operations at Tandem Corp, including the recruitment and onboarding of more than 1,000 workers for a national project and leadership of teams of up to 20 staff. Her practical HR experience and background supporting operational workforces aligned closely with Michell Wool’s requirements.
Gayathri’s appointment reflects Michell Wool’s continued focus on its people and culture, and TESS Search Partners’ ability to identify experienced HR professionals who align with both the role and the organisation.
