REDARC engaged TESS Search Partners to appoint a Project Manager within their New Product Development team, supporting their ongoing investment in innovation and electronics manufacturing in South Australia.
This was not a traditional PM search. REDARC needed someone with genuine technical depth in electronics and product development, combined with strong governance and the ability to manage a disciplined product development lifecycle. The challenge was finding a candidate who could confidently operate in a complex engineering environment while still managing budgets, timelines and cross-functional stakeholders. Many candidates were either strong engineers without structured project leadership experience, or experienced project managers lacking the technical credibility to engage effectively with hardware, firmware and software teams.
Following a targeted search across both Australian and international markets, Ben Charnock emerged as a strong fit. Having recently relocated from the UK, Ben brought proven experience delivering complex, innovation-led products from concept through to production. His engineering background and structured approach to project delivery aligned well with REDARC’s expectations.
This appointment reflects our focus on identifying technically capable project leaders who can bridge engineering depth with disciplined project delivery, for our long-term partner REDARC Electronics.
