Century Engineering partnered with TESS Search Partners to appoint Showza Hrotek as Lead Mechanical Engineer.
The role required an experienced mechanical engineering professional with strong technical leadership and project delivery capability across both site and design environments. The search focused on someone who could lead multidisciplinary engineering activities, work closely with operational teams and manage complex engineering projects from design through to implementation.
With 15 years’ engineering experience across mining, minerals processing and heavy industry, Showza was well aligned to the role. His career includes extensive experience at BHP Olympic Dam, alongside engineering roles with Sedgman Prudentia, Jacobs / Sinclair Knight Merz and AECOM. His background spans mechanical and piping design, brownfield modifications, plant reliability, shutdowns, project execution and multidisciplinary engineering leadership.
During his time at BHP Olympic Dam, Showza delivered a range of plant safety, reliability and production improvement projects, contributing to several production records across Gold and Electrowinning operations. More recently, as Lead Mechanical Engineer with Sedgman Prudentia, he led multidisciplinary engineering work across several BHP Olympic Dam projects, including plant upgrades, brownfield integration and pilot plant development.
This appointment reflects TESS Search Partners’ ability to identify experienced engineering professionals with the technical depth, practical site knowledge and project delivery experience required for key engineering appointments.
